Bohol – Heart of the Visayas // Bohol – Philippines 2013

Our second stop after Bantayan Island was Bohol. We decided to stay on Panglao Island and explore the island from there. On our daily trips we met many tarsiers, the iconic animals of Bohol. Tarsiers are a very old type of primates, they have huge eyes to guide them through the nights when they go hunting for insects and other small prey. They spend the day resting in the shades which makes them often hard to photograph. Tarsiers have a tendency to suicide when held in captivity, a trait that ironically protects them (at least to some extend) from being captured and domesticated, which I found very fascinating. Bohol is also famous for its so called Chocolate Hills where I took a 360° panoramic photo.
